Terms of use
Last updated 20 September 2026 · applies to IntroEdit 0.2 and later
These terms are an agreement between you and Recrate LLC (“we”) about IntroEdit (“the app”) and introedit.com. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
1. What you may do
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on computers you own or control, for your own DJing, including paid gigs. You may not resell, rent or redistribute the app, remove its notices, or use it to build a competing product. The app updates itself only when you choose to.
2. Your music is yours — and your responsibility
IntroEdit works on audio files you give it, entirely on your computer. We never receive them and we claim no rights in them or in the edits you make.
An intro edit is a modified copy of a recording. You are responsible for having the right to make and use it — for example by owning a lawful copy for personal DJ use, or holding whatever licence your use requires. IntroEdit is a tool for working DJs; it is not a licence to distribute, sell or publish edits of other people’s recordings, and you must not use it to infringe anyone’s rights.
3. Early software, provided as is
IntroEdit is early software. It can get a beatgrid wrong, and an edit can sound wrong. Listen to an edit before you play it out. The app never overwrites your original files, but keep backups of your library as you would anyway.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app and this site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
4. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Recrate LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or a lost or disrupted performance, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing. Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
5. Third-party software
The app includes open-source software, each part under its own licence. The notices are installed with
the app, in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt in its resources folder. It downloads
audio models from their publishers on first use; those are covered by their own licences.
6. Privacy
What the app and this site collect is described in the privacy policy.
7. Your account
You need an account to use the app. Use an email address you control, keep your password to yourself, and don’t share the account: it is for one person. You can delete it at any time from the account menu in the app. We may suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms or to abuse the service.
8. Payments
IntroEdit takes no payments today. When paid plans are introduced, the terms for them will be added here before they apply, and the app will tell you.
9. Changes and ending
We may update these terms; the date above will change, and for significant changes the app or this site will say so. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling it. We may end this licence if you seriously break these terms.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Recrate LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your own country gives you rights that can’t be waived.
